  • 5am nostalgia

Apparently now it's early enough to see the slight glimmers of morning at 5am.  When the sun just barely rises on the east side of the bay area hills, the skies turn a bright pink and orange with a back light of royal blue, it's already 5:30am.  Within moments, it's gone, faded into the gentle white and sky blue.

Passing the Charleston Slough and a fog clung Moffett Field it feels nostalgic.

Though hardly comparable, and hardly as cold, this particular morning reminded me of stepping out of the Lancaster Gate, Park Inn Hotel, in London, at 5am, around the end of December.  The day starting off below freezing blowing into my gloved hands - Seeing the sky in a still dark navy, having it melt slowly away into a bright sunburst pink and orange all the while shivering to the closest McDonald's to the tube.

London in December, I'll definitely have to do that again.
